Home Fitness Routine - The Situp

So people should always include a situp in their home fitness routine. This is a must. Grab an affordable yoga mat if you do not have one already and make the situp part of your regular routine, alone with the situp.

The situp is geared towards you abdominal muscles, and it meant to strengthen and tone that area of your stomach. But they need to be done right, without any cheating. Many people like to cheat when doing situps however this is only cheating themselves. They like to get their arms and legs moving slightly to make the situp easier.

Do not do that because it is only making the job easier on your stomach and your stomach is not getting the workout it should. Also injury can occur if you start to move your neck and your spine too much so this is not advised.

  • 1. Lay on the floor having your knees bent at a right angle with but both feet on the floor.
  • 2. Put some kind of weight even if it is an old text book on your feet to keep them down and in place.
  • 3. Put your hands across your chest so that they form an X and keep them there with your elbows kept tightly to your sides of your chest/stomach.
  • 4. Learn upwards keeping your back strait until your folded arms touch your thighs.
  • 5. Learn back down very slowly keeping your back equally as strait again until you almost come to a rest on your back, but not fully.
  • 6. Learn right back up and do it again.

In not time your your situps will become so natural and a part of your home fitness routine that you won’t be able to do without them :)
